LIMITED TIMEElectric cryotherapy is a dry cold, non-invasive experience where you stand inside a chamber of air cooled to -85°C for up to three minutes. Exposure to this ultra-low temperature activates a powerful survival response where blood vessels near the surface of your skin contract and re-route blood to major organs to maintain your core body temperature.
During this response, your blood becomes enriched with oxygen and nutrients. Once the session ends, your blood vessels dilate, sending that revitalised blood back to the surface and muscles—supporting circulation, promoting collagen production, and helping to trigger the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response. Many clients report feeling lighter, energised, and recharged.
Encourages the release of endorphins to help you feel uplifted, energised and mentally clear.
Soothes muscles and may help your body bounce back faster after physical activity or downtime.
Stimulates collagen production which may improve skin tone and help smooth fine lines.
Activates brown adipose tissue (BAT) which may boost metabolic rate.
To get the most out of your cryotherapy experience, avoid applying any moisturiser or lotions beforehand and ensure your hair is dry. We recommend you wear sports shorts (men) and sports shorts and a sports bra (women). We provide complimentary gloves, a mask, headband, socks, slip-ons and headphones. You’ll get to choose a song to listen to during your cryotherapy session.
Our cryochamber can fit up to two people. You’re welcome to bring a friend for just $30 extra, payable at the studio on the day.

What our clients say about us.
How cold does it get during a cryotherapy session?
The coldest our cryotherapy chamber can go is -85°C.
Does cryotherapy hurt?
Cryotherapy involves exposure to cold temperatures which might feel uncomfortable but the more you move during the session, the warmer you’ll feel. (So if you’re feeling nervous, you might choose an upbeat tempo song to listen to and have a bit of dance in the chamber.)
How long is a cryotherapy session?
Each cryotherapy session takes up to three minutes although you’re free to exit the chamber at any time.
Will I be alone during my cryotherapy session?
No, your cryotherapy session will be fully supervised by our staff member.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, our cryochamber can fit up to two people. You’re welcome to bring a friend for just $30 extra, payable at the studio on the day.
What should I wear to cryotherapy?
We recommend you wear sports shorts (men) and sports shorts and a sports bra (women). We provide complimentary gloves, a mask, headband, socks, slip ons and headphones.
How will I feel after cryotherapy?
Whole body cryotherapy stimulates the body to release endorphins—the ‘feel good’ hormones that make you feel energised and alert. Some clients also report that their sleep quality improves.
Who shouldn’t do cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy isn’t suitable for:
16-18 year olds require written parental consent and presence to do cryotherapy.
If you’re unsure whether cryotherapy is for you, please consult your doctor before booking.
Could I catch a cold from cryotherapy?
No, cryotherapy doesn’t cause colds. The session is very short, and the cold exposure actually stimulates your body rather than weakening it.
What’s the difference between an ice bath/cold plunge and cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy uses dry, cold air in a chamber cooled to -85°C for up to three minutes. Ice baths/cold plunges involve sitting in a bath of water cooled to 4-6°C, often for longer periods. Both activate similar physiological responses.
What’s the difference between an electric and a nitrogen cryochamber?
At Chill Wellness we use an electric cryochamber which cools the air using an exchange of heat between a compressor, a condenser, a liquid separator and an evaporator (similar to a walk-in freezer). Nitrogen cryotherapy chambers, on the other hand, cool by vaporising liquid nitrogen.
Can cryotherapy treat skin conditions?
Cryotherapy can also be used to describe the medical procedure of ‘cryoablation’ which uses liquid nitrogen or argon gas to treat abnormal tissue and other conditions. Our electric cryotherapy does not use liquid nitrogen or argon gas and while it can support skin health by stimulating circulation and collagen production, it isn’t a medical procedure.
Does cryotherapy freeze fat?
No, our electric cryotherapy chamber does not freeze fat cells. Cryolipolysis or ‘CoolSculpting’ is a different process which reduces fat using controlled cooling over longer periods. Our cryotherapy is designed to energise, refresh, and support your body’s natural processes — not as a fat-loss treatment.
